Metuchen (/məˈtʌtʃən/ mə-TUTCH-ən) is a suburban borough in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States, which is 5 miles (8.0 km) northeast of New Brunswick, 13 miles (21 km) southwest of Newark, 17 miles (27 km) southwest of Jersey City, and 21 miles (34 km) southwest of Manhattan, all part of the New York metropolitan area. Metuchen is completely surrounded by Edison. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 13,574,[10][11][12] reflecting an increase of 734 (+5.7%) from the 12,840 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 36 (+0.3%) from the 12,804 counted in the 1990 Census.[21]
Metuchen was incorporated as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 20, 1900, from portions of Raritan Township (now known as Edison).[22]

Individually hand-washed rugs mean that your rugs will not share wash/rinse water with other rugs. It's more time-consuming and labor-intensive than our competitors offer, but it results in a thoroughly cleaned, clean-smelling, beautiful rug. A properly washed rug retains its beauty for many years and brightens up your home. S.K. Hamrah has been individually hand-washing fine oriental rugs since 1934 for residents of Metuchen. We have been a family-owned business since 1934 and are proud to have been offering this service to Metuchen, New Jersey area customers for nearly 100 years.
